Referees
Coral Springs Youth Soccer uses a base of about 200 active
referees each season. We pride ourselves in the quality of referees and the training
they receive.
Each year we look to add to our base to replace turnover and
those moving out of the area. We are particularly interested in adding parents
and coaches to our referee corps. You don't have to be a player to help out; it
just requires some basic knowledge of the game. We train!
New Referee Information
We will be holding classes in October for new
referees interested in being a part of our program. You must be 14 years
old by the start of the season (December 1, 2010). Registration must be
done on-line by clicking here. Registration may be limited if
necessary to keep our class sizes manageable.
Our classes consist of two 3-hour lecture
sessions and followed by an exam. Knowledge of the Laws of Soccer will be
extremely helpful in passing this exam. Those passing the exam will also
be required to attend a 2-hour field training session in late November.
Classes will be
held on October 11, 13 and 15 or on October 25, 27 and 29. Prospective
referees must attend all three classes in either week. Please select a
class option when you sign-up. (October 11-15 session is full).
New referees will
do most of their games on Saturdays for the first part of the season. CSYS
assignors will work around the referee's game schedule if he/she also plays.

Referee Refresher Course - 2nd year Refs
All second-year
referees (those whose first year was last season) must attend a Refresher
Meeting on Sunday November 14 at 5:30pm. Watch this web-site for
exact location.
Annual All-Referee Meeting
All referees (new
and returning) must attend the annual all-referee meeting on Sunday November 14
from 7:00pm until 8:00pm at Sartory Hall in Mullins Park.
